Manhattan Active WM Solution Architect
Location: Remote
Travel: Once per month to Dallas, TX; additional travel may be required during the 4-week go-live period (Aug–Sept 2027)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Manhattan Active Warehouse Management (MAWM) Solution Architect to lead the design, configuration, integration, and implementation of Manhattan Active WM solutions across manual and automated distribution centers.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with MAWM configuration and deployment, expertise integrating MAWM with Material Handling Equipment (MHE), WES, and WCS, and excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and implementation of Manhattan Active WM across manual and automated distribution centers.

Configure MAWM capabilities including facility setup, locations, inventory rules, allocation, task generation, waving, cartonization, packing, shipping, equipment, users/roles, reason codes, exceptions, and operational workflows.

Design, develop, and support MAWM extensions using Manhattan ProActive, Groovy/Java-style logic, custom services, UI extensions, labels/documents, events, and configuration-driven enhancements.

Own integration design and delivery between MAWM and MHE/WES/WCS platforms.

Integrate MAWM with warehouse automation systems including conveyors, sorters, ASRS, shuttle systems, AMRs/AGVs, pick-to-light, put walls, print/apply systems, dimensioners, and automated packing solutions.

Define message flows, API/event contracts, canonical payloads, sequencing, retry/error handling, idempotency, monitoring, and reconciliation patterns.

Partner with ERP, OMS, TMS, and middleware teams to integrate inventory, orders, ASN/receipts, shipments, carrier manifesting, labor, and item/location master data.

Lead fit-gap analysis, process-design workshops, configuration workbooks, functional specifications, technical design documents, test strategy, cutover planning, hypercare, and stabilization.

Perform hands-on troubleshooting across MAWM configuration, extensions, integration payloads, logs, automation events, operational exceptions, and performance issues.

Provide technical leadership to developers, testers, and offshore teams.

Review technical designs, code, test cases, and deployment plans for quality and completeness.

Advise stakeholders on warehouse automation integration patterns, operational control points, fallback procedures, exception handling, and support models.
Required Qualifications

15+ years of relevant experience.

Strong hands-on experience with Manhattan Active WM / MAWM.

Proven experience with MAWM configuration and deployment.

Hands-on experience integrating MAWM with MHE/WES/WCS systems.

Experience supporting automated distribution centers and warehouse automation.

Strong integration architecture and troubleshooting skills.

Experience working with technical teams, business stakeholders, clients, and offshore teams.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to take ownership of solutions from design through implementation, go-live, and stabilization.
