Shift Engineer – Multi-Skilled<br />Location: Gainsborough, Lincolnshire<br />Salary: £48,395 per annum<br />Shift Pattern: 12-hour rotating days &amp; nights<br />Average Working Week: 40 hours<br />Contract: Permanent<br />Contek Recruitment are representing their client<br />Contek Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Shift Engineer to join the Engineering team of a well-established manufacturing operation in Gainsborough.<br />This is an excellent opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Engineer with previous FMCG manufacturing experience to join a busy production environment, working across a range of mechanical and electrical machinery and supporting the site with both planned and reactive maintenance.<br />The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently on shift, responding to breakdowns, carrying out preventative maintenance and using their engineering knowledge to keep production running safely and efficiently.<br />The Role

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance across production machinery and site equipment.
• Respond quickly and effectively to mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to minimise production downtime.
• Work across both mechanical and electrical aspects of maintenance.
• Support continuous improvement and engineering improvement projects.
• Assist with fault finding and root cause analysis.
• Complete routine inspections, testing and maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate engineering records through the site's CMMS system.
• Ensure all maintenance work is carried out safely and in line with company procedures.
• Work closely with Production and Engineering colleagues to maintain maximum machine availability.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of engineering standards across the site.
• Maintain good housekeeping and 5S standards within engineering areas.
• Ensure appropriate safety procedures are followed, including relevant ATEX requirements.
• Proactively identify potential equipment issues before they develop into major breakdowns.
• Provide engineering support across different areas of the manufacturing facility.<br />About You<br />The successful candidate will be an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer who is confident working within a fast-paced production environment.<br />Previous FMCG manufacturing experience is essential for this position.<br />You will ideally have:
• Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance skills.
• Previous experience working as a Multi-Skilled or Shift Engineer.
• Proven experience within an FMCG manufacturing environment.
• Good fault-finding and diagnostic ability.
• Experience working with production machinery and associated equipment.
• Awareness of ATEX and associated workplace requirements.
• Experience with preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Good computer skills and confidence using maintenance management systems.
• Experience using a CMMS system; Pirana experience would be advantageous.
• A proactive approach to identifying and resolving engineering issues.
• The ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• A punctual, reliable and professional approach to shift work.<br />Shift Pattern<br />This position operates on a 12-hour rotating shift pattern covering both days and nights, averaging 40 hours per week.<br />The pattern works on a three-week rotation:<br />Week<br />Shift A<br />Shift B<br />Shift C<br />Week 1<br />Mon/Tue Days + Thu/Fri Nights<br />Mon/Tue/Wed Nights<br />Wed/Thu/Fri Days<br />Week 2<br />Wed/Thu/Fri Days<br />Mon/Tue Days + Thu/Fri Nights<br />Mon/Tue/Wed Nights<br />Week 3<br />Mon/Tue/Wed Nights<br />Wed/Thu/Fri Days<br />Mon/Tue Days + Thu/Fri Nights<br />This provides a balanced rotation of days and nights, with an average working week of 40 hours.<br />The Opportunity<br />This is a strong opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to join an established manufacturing environment where Engineering plays a key role in maintaining production performance.<br />You will become an important part of the shift engineering team, working across mechanical and electrical maintenance and having a direct impact on machine availability, reliability, safety and production output.<br />£48,395 per annum | 12-hour rotating shifts | Days &amp; Nights | 40-hour average week<br />FMCG manufacturing experience is essential
