Windows Engineer/ Systems engineer

Job Description:
Systems Engineer to support our federal client's Endpoint Technology Engineering Integration efforts. In this critical role, the resource will contribute to the transformation of the (US Government Client) endpoint environment, including Windows 11, Office 365, and other areas as needed for workplace modernization. This team is responsible for endpoint device updates, patching, packaging, App Store (s) publishing, vulnerability remediation, and pilot coordination/oversight for all endpoints at US Government Client. The resource will support these activities across all the teams under Endpoint Integration, as well as provide coordination with the other departments as needed.
Day-to-day Work Responsibilities:
o Apply AI tools to deliver secure, reliable, modern endpoint solutions; select appropriate tools and handle data responsibly.
o Hand on knowledge of modern Windows, iOS and Android Operating systems.
o Operate, maintain, and support complex endpoint technology components.
o Develop scripted solutions (PowerShell/VBScript), package applications (Flexera WiseScript/InstallShield), and automate endpoint health remediation (e.g., service status, restarts, disk space, CPU, Event Logs) to remove legacy software, install updates, and address technical issues across user devices.
o Independently analyze and resolve component-level availability/performance issues; collaborate with vendors to implement approved fixes.
o Track open tickets, documenting every stage, including conversations, GitHub script revisions, time logs, testing schedules, and Tanium target creation for script rollouts.
o Build and maintain specialized knowledge of current and emerging technologies within assigned platforms.
o Provide training and knowledge transfer to less experienced IT team members.
o Deliver user assistance, training, and information sharing.
o Provide customer-facing support across diverse technology components.
o Adhere to formal change and test management procedures.
o Escalate atypical or unexpected findings promptly.
o Create action plans to resolve detected faults and track outcomes.
o Install, test, and implement complex component-level infrastructure changes independently.
o Conduct isolation testing for faulty equipment and software.
o Establish and refine operational processes to deliver world‐class technology platforms.
o Utilize associated management systems to operate and monitor platforms.
o Perform capacity and performance analysis; develop and implement optimization recommendations.
o Develop recommendations and implementation procedures for new hardware/software; prepare materials suitable for presentations.
o Document solutions approach comprehensively and maintain troubleshooting records.
o Maintain computer‐based documentation and ticket systems to record configurations, track changes/issues, and compile performance data.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Tanium and related endpoint management technologies.
• Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration, working with diverse teams to meet shared objectives.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Effective multitasking and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple concurrent projects.
• Deep knowledge of distributed system architectures, both hardware and software components.
Education/Knowledge Requirements:
o A minimum of eight (8) years' relevant experience.
o A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is required. If the individual's degree is not in the applicable field then four additional years of related experience is required.
