Job Description

Role Summary
The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading complex electrical design and analysis tasks supporting field projects and fabrication offices. This role involves managing multidisciplinary project teams from inception through construction completion, ensuring adherence to technical standards, safety protocols, and client specifications. The position requires a combination of technical expertise and project management skills to deliver high-quality electrical system solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, analysis, and development of electrical power distribution systems for industrial projects, including medium voltage utility tie-ins and low voltage distribution.
  • Prepare comprehensive project documents, drawings, and specifications, ensuring quality and compliance with standards such as IEEE, NEC, and NESC.
  • Coordinate tasks among internal teams, external contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure project scope, schedule, and budget are maintained.
  • Manage project scopes, budgets, and schedules, providing regular updates and ensuring deliverables meet client and project requirements.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate technical techniques, procedures, and criteria for electrical engineering tasks.
  • Support proposals for engineering projects, including scope definition, cost estimation, and resource planning.
  • Conduct electrical experiments, analyze data, and interpret results to inform project decisions.
  • Act as a discipline lead on projects, managing internal and external resources, and providing technical guidance to junior engineers.
  • Participate in client meetings, providing technical updates and ensuring client specifications and standards are met.
  • Assist with engineering training, peer reviews, and quality assurance activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; if not licensed, a FE with the goal to obtain PE within a year is required.
  • Minimum of 6 years of related engineering experience, with proven success in industrial power distribution projects.
  • Strong proficiency in electrical power distribution system design, including layout, equipment specification, grounding, and protection studies.
  • Experience working within IEEE, NEC, and NESC standards.
  • Demonstrable ability to manage budgets, schedules, and deliverables on electrical projects.
  • Proficiency with modeling software such as ETAP, EasyPower, SKM, or PSS is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment, with occasional overtime and travel as needed.

Publishing Pay Range: $157,000 - $167,000 annually

This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.
