Required - IBM i (AS/400 / iSeries) Engineer - REMOTE

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced IBM i (AS/400 / iSeries) Engineer to support, develop, and enhance enterprise applications running on the IBM i platform. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in RPG programming, CL, DB2 for i, and IBM i system administration. This role involves collaborating with business stakeholders, application teams, and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and support applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platform.
• Develop and maintain applications using RPG III, RPG IV (ILE RPG), RPG Free, CL, and SQL RPGLE.
• Create and maintain DB2 for i database objects, stored procedures, triggers, and SQL queries.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Optimize application performance and improve system efficiency.
• Support batch processing, job scheduling, and system monitoring.
• Perform code reviews, testing, deployment, and documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams during system upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and development standards.
• Participate in on-call production support as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5–12+ years of hands-on IBM i (AS/400) development experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and within distributed global teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience in Manufacturing, Banking, Insurance, Retail, or Supply Chain domains.
• IBM certifications related to IBM i.
• Experience with application modernization and legacy transformation projects.
