Job description

Technology Specialist Associate
Peterborough / Midlands – Home-based with regular site travel (typically 3 days per week)
£36,604 - £42,042 depending on experience

VIQU are partnering with a leading education organisation who are looking to recruit a Technology Specialist Associate to provide technical support across multiple school sites. The successful candidate will work closely with regional technical specialists, providing additional technical expertise, supporting projects and ensuring reliable IT services across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities of the Technology Specialist Associate:

  • Provide remote and on-site 2nd/3rd line technical support across multiple school locations, resolving complex infrastructure and connectivity issues.
  • Support server upgrades, infrastructure improvements and wider technology projects across the organisation.
  • Administer and maintain Microsoft 365 and Azure environments, including managing policies and Conditional Access configurations.
  • Troubleshoot wired and wireless networking issues, ensuring reliable connectivity across sites.
  • Work alongside regional technical specialists to support technology improvements, school onboarding and infrastructure refresh programmes.

Key Experience Required of the Technology Specialist Associate:

  • Strong hands-on experience in a 2nd/3rd Line Support Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer or Field Support Engineer position.
  • Solid knowledge of Windows Server infrastructure, with an understanding of server upgrades and maintenance.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential, alongside the flexibility to travel to different sites approximately three days per week, with occasional overnight stays.
