Job Description

Corporate Controller position also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Through our broad geographic reach, pioneering green- technology, and large fleet of specialized equipment, we have developed a highly diverse long term client base to include highway contractors, DOTs, cities/municipalities, renewable energy, and industrial contractors. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing and maintaining the accuracy of multiple balance sheet accounts while performing transactional accounting functions as needed.

This role requires an understanding of accounting principles and entries, analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Accurate weekly reconciliation of bank and intercompany balance sheet accounts. Ownership of all balance sheet reconciliations for weekly review and month-end close. Booking of accounting entries as part of the monthly close cycle. Assisting with the year-end audit and tax requirements.

Cash Application: Accurately apply cash receipts as necessary, ensuring timely and accurate recording of transactions.

Accounts Payable: Manage accounts payable for one company, including processing invoices, verifying expenses, and ensuring timely payments. Utilize gained experience to aid in selection and implementation of AP automation software.

Fixed Assets Management: Maintain and update the fixed assets register, ensuring accurate recording of acquisitions, disposals, and transfers. Maintain depreciation records in accordance with company policies.
Credit cards: Administer the corporate office credit card platform, code expenses, and upload transactions to the operating system.

Other Duties: Prepare financial reports and support other accounting functions as needed. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
~2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
~ Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
~ Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office 365, etc.
~ Works in an indoor office relatively free from environmental conditions or hazards.
Use of office equipment and computers.
Occasional lifting of supplies and materials from time to time.
Occasional potential travel to Operating Company sites.
