Controls Engineer / Controls Technician

Location: Simsbury, CT (Primary Office)
Travel: New England, including periodic visits to our North Hampton, NH manufacturing facility
Job Type: Full-time


About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer or Controls Technician with strong PLC/HMI programming experience and a solid understanding of industrial control systems. This role involves system design, electrical schematic development, onsite troubleshooting, and occasional customer support. Most work is onsite in Simsbury, with periodic travel throughout New England.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement industrial control systems
  • Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI applications
  • Create and update electrical schematics using CAD (AutoCAD preferred)
  • Work with process instrumentation and control system wiring
  • Navigate industrial environments to define and clarify control requirements
  • Support system builds and testing at our North Hampton, NH facility
  • Provide periodic after-hours customer support
  • Travel within New England, including occasional overnight trips


Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience with PLC and HMI programming (required)
  • Strong understanding of industrial control system design (required)
  • Experience with power generation or substation design (beneficial but not required)
  • Engineering or technical degree (beneficial but not required)
  • Valid driver’s license (required)
  • Ability to legally work in the United States (required)
