Job Description

Duration: 12 months contract

Job Description:
  • Seeking an Opto-Mechanical Design Engineer to design, prototype, test, and release precision opto-mechanical assemblies for advanced optical systems. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams.
Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop precision opto-mechanical assemblies and mechanisms.
  • Work with system, optical, electrical, and software engineers to define subsystem requirements and participate in design reviews.
  • Create and maintain Creo 3D CAD models and mechanical designs.
  • Perform actuator selection, tolerance analysis, lifetime evaluation, optics mounting, and alignment/adjustment design.
  • Support prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and design validation.
  • Qualify and release mechanism designs for manufacturing.
  • Provide engineering support to onsite manufacturing and resolve design-related issues.
Experience:
  • Experience in opto-mechanical design or precision mechanical design.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Creo / 3D CAD.
  • Experience designing precision mechanisms, actuators, optical mounts, and alignment systems.
  • Knowledge of tolerance analysis, mechanical design, and design validation.
  • Experience taking designs through prototype, qualification, and manufacturing release.
  • Strong cross-functional engineering and problem-solving skills.
Skillsets:
  • Experience with ANSYS or similar CAE tools.
  • Knowledge of thermal, structural, or flow analysis.
  • Experience with optical, imaging, inspection, metrology, or precision instrumentation systems.
  • Semiconductor equipment or other high-precision equipment experience.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing and production ramp.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
