Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Snowflake Data Engineer with strong expertise in Snowflake, SQL, IICS (Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services), Python, GitHub, Control-M/Redwood, and ETL processes. The ideal candidate will have strong data engineering and data modeling skills, along with an understanding of ITAR compliance and data security requirements.

The candidate should have hands-on experience working with Snowflake, writing and optimizing SQL code, developing ETL pipelines, troubleshooting data issues, and collaborating with onsite and offshore teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data models and data solutions in Snowflake.
  • Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using IICS (Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services) to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources into Snowflake.
  • Write, review, and optimize SQL queries for performance, scalability, and efficient data processing.
  • Configure and optimize Snowflake features, including clustering, materialized views, data retention, data sharing, cloning, resource monitoring, and automatic scaling.
  • Monitor Snowflake data pipelines and identify performance bottlenecks; implement appropriate tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Ensure data quality, accuracy, consistency, and integrity across data pipelines.
  • Validate data rules and perform data validation/testing for rules implemented by the development team.
  • Apply appropriate security controls, encryption, access controls, and data protection measures to support ITAR compliance.
  • Ensure data processing and data management activities align with applicable ITAR requirements and organizational security standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline, SQL, ETL, and Snowflake-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with data analysts, data scientists, IT teams, developers, and other cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver reliable data solutions.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation covering data models, ETL processes, Snowflake pipelines, data validation, and compliance procedures.
  • Stay current with the latest Snowflake capabilities, data engineering practices, and industry standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing data architecture, pipelines, performance, and operational processes.
  • Coordinate effectively with onsite and offshore teams and support peer-team activities.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in handling business-critical and ad-hoc requests while meeting agreed timelines and delivery commitments.

Required Qualifications

  • 8–15 years of overall IT/tool/business experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake.
  • Excellent knowledge of Core SQL, including writing, troubleshooting, and query optimization.
  • Proven experience as a Snowflake Data Engineer.
  • Strong experience with data modeling and database design.
  • Hands-on experience with IICS (Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services) and ETL/ELT development.
  • Experience with Python for data engineering and automation.
  • Experience with GitHub and source-code/version control practices.
  • Experience with Control-M and/or Redwood for job scheduling and orchestration.
  • Experience with Snowflake capabilities such as Data retention, Clustering, Materialized views, Data sharing, Cloning, Resource monitoring, Automatic scaling.
  • Understanding of ITAR compliance, data security, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team.
  • Ability to manage priorities and deliver tasks within defined timelines.
