Quick Overview
Job Description
ABOUT BESTOW
Life insurance is one of the world's most important products. It's also one of the hardest to build, distribute, and modernize. Bestow exists to change that.
Bestow is a leading vertical technology platform serving some of the largest and most innovative life insurers. Our platform unifies the fragmented, legacy value chain, enabling carriers to launch products in weeks instead of years. Carriers choose us to scale and operate at unprecedented speed, powered by AI and automation.
Bestow isn't selling policies. We're building the infrastructure that helps an entire industry move faster, reach more people, and deliver on its promise.
Backed by leading investors (Goldman Sachs, Hedosophia, NEA, Valar, 8VC) and trusted by major carriers, Bestow is powered by a team that moves with precision, purpose, and heart. If you want to help reimagine a centuries-old industry with lasting impact, join us.
Bestow offers flexible remote/hybrid work, meaningful benefits, equity, and substantial growth opportunities.

ABOUT THE TEAM
The Bestow Product organization is responsible for defining, designing, and delivering exceptional digital experiences that solve real problems. Our team collaborates across Engineering, Revenue, and Ops to transform ideas into intuitive, valuable solutions that delight our users. We believe in evidence-based decision making and maintaining a relentless focus on customer outcomes to drive product excellence.
You will join the Agent Experience Team — the team shaping how insurance agents, wholesalers, and back-office teams quote, illustrate, and start a policy. That means product illustrations for indexed universal life, agent distribution integrations (single sign-on, application pre-fill, case status, quoting and pricing), wholesaler and back-office workflows, and the front half of the customer funnel that hands off into application and checkout.
This work is distinctive in two ways. First, your users are professionals with alternatives — agents who will route business elsewhere if our tools are slower than the competition. Second, much of what you design is seen and evaluated by our carrier and distribution partners — often in live working sessions. Design here is externally visible in a way most product design roles are not.
You will report to the Senior Design Manager, New Business, and work in close collaboration with the Staff Product Designer for New Business. This role is open to Remote (US). #LIRemote
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Bestow is seeking a Product Designer II to own design execution for the Agent Experience — turning agent, wholesaler, and distribution workflows into experiences that are fast, clear, and credible to the professionals who use them and the partners who evaluate them.
We’re looking for a designer who combines strong research instincts with the ability to shape and ship ideas quickly. The most meaningful work on this team happens where ambiguity is high: discovery starts before requirements are fully baked, carrier requirements change mid-flight, and the best designers don’t wait for a finished PRD — they help define the problem, test direction, and bring partners along with evidence.
This team is prototype-first. You’ll work in Figma and in coded prototypes — often in shared repos alongside engineering and product — using AI tooling to move faster without sacrificing judgment. If you’re energized by the shift from static handoffs to living prototypes, and you can speak concretely to how you’ve adapted your workflow between canvas and code, you’ll thrive here.
You’ll own execution within an architectural direction set by our Staff designer for New Business which means you get an experienced partner on domain context, cross-module coherence, and quality, and you get real ownership of your surfaces. If you want to be the only designer in the room making every call alone, this isn’t that role. If you want to own significant work with someone senior invested in your growth, it is.
As a member of the team, you will:
Own end-to-end design for assigned initiatives — from problem framing and research through prototyping, validation, and implementation partnership
Design for multiple distinct user types in one system — independent agents, wholesalers, and internal back-office teams — including role-based permissions and data import workflows
Conduct and synthesize research through user interviews, usability testing, and data analysis, including moderated sessions with external agents
Shape solutions in partnership with product managers — helping define problems, outline approaches, and establish success criteria when requirements are still forming
Create user flows, diagrams, Figma designs, and coded prototypes that communicate direction clearly to stakeholders, engineering, and external partners
Navigate and collaborate in shared code repositories — reading existing prototypes, iterating in an IDE with AI assistance, and partnering with engineers during implementation
Design integration experiences where the product surface is partly determined by a partner’s system — single sign-on, pre-fill, status, and quoting APIs
Partner with engineering to protect design integrity while balancing technical constraints
Contribute to design critiques and help elevate quality across the team
Champion user-centered design in a regulated product — where trust, accuracy, and compliance matter as much as polish
WHO YOU ARE
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
3–5 years of product design experience, ideally on complex or regulated products (fintech, healthcare, enterprise B2B, insurance, or similar)
Portfolio demonstrating systems thinking, research-to-shipping discipline, and attention to interaction and visual detail
Track record of delivering product work with measurable impact — even when the path from research to production isn’t linear
Proficiency in Figma and modern prototyping approaches
Required: Hands-on experience building or iterating on designs in an IDE or code-based environment (e.g., Cursor, VS Code with AI assistants, Claude Code) — not only watching engineers prototype
Strong preference: Comfort reading and navigating coded prototypes and collaborating in repos with engineering and product partners
Strong preference: Demonstrated use of AI in your daily design practice — with specific examples of what you automate, what you keep human, and what failed
Comfortable presenting work to stakeholders and holding a point of view in the room
Experience contributing to or working within design systems and component libraries
Strong analytical skills; comfortable using qualitative and quantitative inputs to inform decisions
Excellent communication skills and a track record of productive cross-functional partnership
Ability to operate in ambiguity and making progress with incomplete information
Works well inside a shared design direction — gives and receives critique proactively, and treats a senior partner as leverage rather than oversight
Preferred, but Not Required
Experience designing for professional or agent-facing channels (brokerage, wealth, distribution, marketplace supply side)
Background designing experiences that span two companies’ brands
Experience with quoting, pricing, illustration, or configurator interfaces
Experience with agentic or multi-step AI workflows in design or product exploration
Familiarity with design-system-to-code pipelines (Figma to production components)
