Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to serve as a critical liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams within a banking environment. This individual will be responsible for eliciting, analyzing, documenting, and managing business and system requirements for application development initiatives. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional requirements gathering skills, understands how to ask the right questions to uncover business needs, and can translate those needs into clear, actionable requirements for development teams.

The successful candidate will be highly skilled at facilitating discussions with business leaders, identifying process improvements, documenting current and future state workflows, and ensuring solutions align with business objectives while meeting regulatory and operational requirements common within the banking industry.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Elicitation & Analysis

· Lead requirements gathering sessions, workshops, interviews, and discovery meetings with business stakeholders.

· Ask probing questions to uncover explicit and implicit business needs, dependencies, constraints, and risks.

· Analyze business processes, workflows, policies, and operational procedures to identify opportunities for improvement.

· Facilitate discussions to define business objectives, success metrics, and expected outcomes.

· Identify gaps between current and future state processes and recommend solutions.

Requirements Documentation

· Develop clear, complete, and testable business, functional, and non-functional requirements.

· Create and maintain:

1.       Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)

2.       Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs)

3.       User Stories and Acceptance Criteria

4.       Process Flows

5.       Use Cases

6.       Data Mapping Documents

7.       Requirements Traceability Matrices

· Ensure requirements are detailed enough for design, development, testing, and implementation teams.

Stakeholder Management

· Serve as the primary liaison between business units and technology teams.

· Build strong relationships with business leaders, product owners, operations teams, compliance groups, and technical stakeholders.

· Facilitate consensus among stakeholders with competing priorities.

· Present findings, recommendations, and solutions to business and executive audiences.

Application Development Support

· Collaborate closely with architects, developers, QA teams, and project managers throughout the software development lifecycle.

· Participate in solution design discussions and ensure requirements are accurately interpreted.

· Support Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.

· Assist with backlog management, sprint planning, and requirements refinement activities.

· Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) planning and execution.

Banking & Regulatory Focus

· Understand banking operations, products, and processes.

· Consider regulatory, compliance, audit, security, and risk management requirements when defining solutions.

· Ensure requirements support operational efficiency while maintaining compliance obligations.

Required Qualifications

· 7+ years of Business Systems Analysis experience.

· 3+ years working within a banking, financial services, credit union, lending, payments, or fintech environment.

· Demonstrated expertise in requirements elicitation and documentation.

· Strong experience facilitating stakeholder interviews and requirements workshops.

· Experience translating business needs into detailed functional requirements.

· Solid understanding of application development methodologies and software development lifecycle (SDLC).

· Experience working with Agile and/or Scrum teams.

· Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with digital banking, lending systems, deposit systems, payments, treasury management, commercial banking, or core banking platforms.

· Knowledge of APIs, system integrations, data flows, and databases.

· Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, Visio, Lucidchart, or similar tools.

· Experience supporting cloud-based application initiatives.

Technical Knowledge
