Job Description



Systems Engineer (GCC High / CMMC Compliance)

Comp: $130,000-$150,000

100% On-Site in Camarillo, CA


We are seeking a hands-on Systems Engineer to serve as the senior technical resource within a highly regulated environment. This role will act as the primary escalation point for infrastructure, cloud, security, and compliance initiatives while partnering closely with IT leadership and business stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has experience supporting secure environments, managing enterprise infrastructure, and driving compliance and cybersecurity programs. This position offers significant exposure to executive leadership and a clear path into IT Management.


Responsibilities



  • Administer and support Microsoft 365 environments, including GCC and GCC High environments.

  • Maintain and enhance CMMC Level 2 compliance initiatives and security controls.

  • Support NIST 800-171 compliance requirements and audit readiness activities.

  • Manage Windows Server infrastructure, Active Directory, and hybrid identity solutions.

  • Administer Azure cloud services and related infrastructure resources.

  • Serve as the senior escalation point for Help Desk and infrastructure-related issues.

  • Manage virtualization platforms including VMware and/or Hyper-V.

  • Configure and support firewalls, VPN solutions, and network security technologies.

  • Perform security hardening, vulnerability management, and remediation activities.

  • Own backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and standards.

  • Lead infrastructure upgrades, cloud migrations, cybersecurity projects, and technology initiatives.

  • Partner with third-party auditors, compliance consultants, and technology vendors.

  • Provide recommendations on technology investments, budgeting, and vendor management.

  • Participate in an on-call rotation supporting critical business systems.


Required Qualifications



  • 5-10+ years of Systems Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or related IT experience.

  • Strong Microsoft 365 administration experience.

  • Experience with Windows Server administration and troubleshooting.

  • Active Directory and hybrid identity management experience.

  • Azure administration and cloud infrastructure experience.

  • Experience with VMware and/or Hyper-V virtualization platforms.

  • Firewall and VPN administration experience.

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, vulnerability management, and system hardening.

  • Experience supporting backup and disaster recovery solutions.

  • Strong technical documentation and communication skills.

  • Experience operating in regulated, security-focused, or compliance-driven environments.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with technical teams, executives, and external partners.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience administering Microsoft GCC High environments.

  • Exposure to CMMC Level 2 compliance requirements.

  • Understanding of NIST 800-171 security frameworks.

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or other regulated industries.

  • Familiarity with ITAR and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) environments.

  • AWS experience, including knowledge of modern AI platforms such as Amazon Bedrock.

  • PowerShell scripting and automation experience.

  • PKI and certificate management expertise.

  • Zero Trust architecture experience.

  • Experience with the Microsoft Security ecosystem.

  • Security certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CISM, or similar.

  • Familiarity with AI tools including Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, and Claude.

  • Experience serving as the primary technical SME, infrastructure lead, or senior systems engineer in a small to mid-sized organization.
