Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Database Developer for a 6 12 month contract engagement. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of enterprise software and database development experience with strong expertise in Oracle RDBMS, database development, performance tuning, and advanced Oracle programming techniques.

Experience working with healthcare data and healthcare domain applications is highly preferred. The candidate should be comfortable working in an Agile/Scrum environment and have experience with source control, issue tracking, and CI/CD technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and optimize enterprise-scale applications and database solutions using Oracle.
• Develop complex PL/SQL programs, stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, and database objects.
• Work extensively with advanced Oracle features, including BULK COLLECT, FORALL, collections, cursors, and bulk processing.
• Perform Oracle database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, execution-plan analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Analyze database performance issues and implement solutions to improve scalability, reliability, and response times.
• Design efficient data models and database structures for enterprise applications.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and PL/SQL code.
• Participate in database design, development, testing, deployment, and production support activities.
• Collaborate with software engineers, business analysts, QA teams, and other stakeholders to deliver database solutions.
• Follow established Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Use Git for source control and JIRA for issue and project tracking.
• Support and implement CI/CD pipelines for database and application development.
• Work with CI tools such as Jenkins, Hudson, Bamboo, or CruiseControl.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure database development follows enterprise standards for security, performance, maintainability, and reliability.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in enterprise software development with strong Oracle database expertise.
• Strong hands-on experience in Oracle Database Development.
• Advanced PL/SQL development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle RDBMS architecture and database development.
• Demonstrated experience with Oracle database performance tuning and optimization.
• Hands-on experience with BULK COLLECT, FORALL, collections, cursors, and bulk processing.
• Strong SQL development and query optimization skills.
• Experience developing complex stored procedures, functions, packages, and database objects.
• Experience with enterprise-scale database applications and production environments.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Experience with Git and JIRA.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD implementation and CI servers such as Jenkins, Hudson, Bamboo, or CruiseControl.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of healthcare data and/or healthcare domain experience.
• Experience working with large-scale healthcare databases and healthcare data integrations.
• Knowledge of functional programming concepts.
• Experience implementing automated database deployment processes.
• Experience working with enterprise CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience supporting high-volume, mission-critical Oracle environments.
