Job Description

Sonic Healthcare USA, Inc., a leader in laboratory and pathology services, seeks an Automation & Orchestration Engineer to enhance reliability and efficiency of our diagnostic platforms. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain automated workflows, scripts, and orchestration solutions that support clinical and laboratory operations across our nationwide network. You will collaborate closely with clinicians, lab professionals, and IT teams to streamline deployments, improve system uptime, and ensure secure, compliant handling of healthcare data. Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain automation and orchestration workflows to support laboratory and pathology operations.
  • Integrate automation tools with clinical systems, laboratory information systems, and infrastructure platforms.
  • Develop reusable scripts and templates to streamline deployments, configuration, and environment provisioning.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, lab professionals, and IT teams to understand requirements and translate them into automated solutions.
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and self-healing workflows to improve reliability and uptime of diagnostic systems.
  • Ensure automation solutions meet security, compliance, and healthcare data privacy requirements (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and document automation pipelines, scripts, and orchestration runbooks.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Support incident response and root cause analysis by leveraging automated tools and logs.
  • Contribute to standards, best practices, and knowledge sharing across the engineering and operations teams.
