Job Description

Manufacturing Engineer<br />Manufacturing Engineer required for a long-term contract in Peterborough.<br />£38.00 FCSA Umbrella (Role is deemed inside IR35)<br />£28.00 PAYE<br />Initial 9-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension.<br />Fully Onsite 5 days PW in Peterborough We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support manufacturing process development, continuous improvement activities, New Product Introduction (NPI) projects and manufacturing project delivery within a high-profile engineering and manufacturing environment.<br />The successful candidate will be responsible for improving manufacturing performance across assembly and final assembly operations, supporting production readiness for new and existing products and implementing robust manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost.<br />Typical responsibilities include:

Supporting Manufacturing Engineering projects from concept through to implementation.<br />Delivering process improvements to increase productivity, efficiency and quality.<br />Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and manufacturing readiness.<br />Developing and maintaining PFMEA documentation, control plans and standard work.<br />Supporting process validation, prototype builds and production launches.<br />Working closely with production, engineering and supplier teams to implement manufacturing improvements.<br />Supporting equipment, tooling and manufacturing system improvements.<br />Identifying and resolving manufacturing issues through structured problem solving and root cause analysis.<br />Supporting Design for Manufacture and industrialisation activities.<br />Driving Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.Essential Skills Previous Manufacturing Engineering experience within a production, assembly or industrial manufacturing environment.<br />Strong Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience.<br />Experience delivering manufacturing projects and process improvements.<br />Good analytical and problem-solving skills.<br />Experience supporting NPI, industrialisation or process development activities.<br />Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.Desirable Skills Automotive, aerospace or similar engineering manufacturing background.<br />Experience with PFMEA, control plans and manufacturing validation activities.<br />Exposure to CAD systems such as CATIA or similar.<br />Experience working within high-volume or process-driven manufacturing environments.This role would suit candidates from Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering or Continuous Improvement backgrounds who enjoy a combination of hands-on manufacturing support and project-based engineering activities.<br />This role is inside IR35 and offers a pay rate of up to £38.00/hr Umbrella or £28.00/hr PAYE depending upon experience and qualifications
