Job Description

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer<br />Location: North Bradford - with occaisional travel to Leeds site<br />Salary: £40,000 We are recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in Shipley. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the introduction of new products, development of manufacturing processes and delivery of continuous improvement projects within a modern manufacturing environment. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will support the design, implementation and optimisation of manufacturing processes, helping to improve efficiency, quality and productivity across production and assembly operations. The Role Reporting to the Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and improving manufacturing processes, supporting new product introduction and ensuring projects are delivered successfully from concept through to production. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) by developing manufacturing processes and production systems
  • Designing and implementing new equipment, tooling and manufacturing processes
  • Working closely with Design, Production, Continuous Improvement and Maintenance teams throughout project lifecycles
  • Supporting Design for Manufacture (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA) activities
  • Assisting with equipment specification, supplier selection and installation projects
  • Evaluating and improving existing manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, quality and productivity
  • Developing both automated and manual manufacturing solutions
  • Conducting process trials, validation and testing of new manufacturing methods
  • Supporting PFMEA activities and updating documentation as processes evolve
  • Managing Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) throughout projects
  • Working with suppliers and internal stakeholders to deliver successful manufacturing solutions
  • Ensuring all projects support Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC) objectives What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing engineering role
  • Experience working within manufacturing, assembly or production environments
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, ideally including metalworking and assembly operations
  • Understanding of Design for Manufacture (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA) principles
  • Experience working with Engineering and Manufacturing Bills of Materials (eBOM/mBOM)
  • CAD experience, ideally AutoCAD and/or Siemens NX
  • Experience supporting manufacturing projects, equipment installation or production improvements
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a structured approach to process improvement
  • HND or Foundation Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline (degree or working towards desirable) The Individual You will be a proactive and organised Manufacturing Engineer with excellent communication skills and a genuine interest in improving manufacturing processes. You'll enjoy working collaboratively across multiple departments, taking ownership of projects and identifying practical engineering solutions that improve operational performance.
