Manufacturing Engineer Location: Johnstone, Scotland (On-site)<br />Job Type: Permanent | Full-Time Manufacturing Engineer - Precision Engineering Are you an experienced Manufacturing Engineer with a passion for CNC programming, process improvement and precision machining?
We are recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to join a growing precision engineering business that supplies complex, high-quality components to demanding industrial sectors. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a modern manufacturing environment where continuous improvement, innovation and technical expertise are highly valued.
Working closely with Production and Quality teams, you'll play a key role in developing and optimising manufacturing processes, supporting new product introduction and driving operational excellence across the machine shop. Key Responsibilities Produce offline CNC programs for multi-axis milling and turning using CAM software.
Develop and improve manufacturing methods to increase productivity, quality and efficiency. Create manufacturing work packs and detailed operator instructions. Support production in achieving manufacturing schedules and delivery targets. Optimise tooling, workholding and machining strategies.
Manage the introduction of new components into production. Investigate manufacturing issues using root cause analysis and implement corrective actions. Support continuous improvement initiatives across Engineering and Quality. Coordinate machine maintenance activities to maximise equipment performance.
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality standards and internal procedures. About You To be successful in this role, you'll have: Previous experience as a Manufacturing Engineer within a precision machining environment. Strong offline CNC programming experience using CAM software (Mastercam experience is advantageous but not essential).
Experience programming multi-axis CNC milling and turning machines. Good knowledge of 3 Axis, 3+2 Axis and 5 Axis machining. The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, 3D models and customer specifications. Experience using Fanuc and HAAS CNC controls. A strong understanding of machining processes and manufacturing best practice.
Experience machining exotic materials, ideally within highly regulated or precision engineering industries. Excellent problem-solving skills, including Root Cause Analysis. Good Microsoft Office skills. Desirable SolidWorks experience. ERP/MRP system experience. HNC/HND or equivalent engineering qualification. What's on Offer?
