About the Opportunity
ARK Hospitality is seeking a driven and relationship-focused
Director of Sales to lead all sales, business development, and revenue-generation efforts for an extended-stay hotel in Bowling Green, Kentucky. This role is responsible for increasing occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and long-term room-night production through strategic account development, community engagement, proactive prospecting, and strong market presence.
The ideal candidate brings hospitality sales experience, a passion for building relationships, and the ability to create both new and recurring business opportunities.
Position Summary
The
Director of Sales is responsible for the development and execution of the property's sales strategy while working closely with hotel leadership and revenue-management partners.
This position combines strategic planning and hands-on selling and requires a highly motivated sales leader who enjoys networking, creating partnerships, growing accounts, and driving measurable revenue results.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Business Development
Develop and execute a comprehensive sales and marketing strategy designed to drive occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and revenue growth.
Identify and secure business across key extended-stay demand segments including
Corporate and business travel
Manufacturing and industrial accounts
Healthcare organizations
Education and university-related travel
Construction and project-based business
Relocation and temporary housing providers
Government and municipal business
Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, community organizations, employers, and decision-makers. Generate new business through proactive sales calls, networking, property tours, community involvement, and account-development activities.
Negotiate and manage local negotiated-rate agreements, project contracts, and long-term lodging opportunities. Maintain a healthy sales pipeline focused on long-term room-night production. Revenue Performance & Planning
Collaborate with hotel leadership and revenue-management teams to align pricing and sales strategies with market demand. Monitor and report on:

RevPAR
Account Production
Market Share
Sales Activity
Analyze market conditions and competitive information to identify growth opportunities. Support forecasting, budgeting, and revenue-planning activities.
Community Engagement & Market Presence
Represent the hotel at business, networking, tourism, and community events. Strengthen relationships with key market demand generators. Increase brand awareness and market visibility through proactive outreach. Position the hotel as a preferred extended-stay lodging solution within the Bowling Green market. Administrative & Reporting Responsibilities
Maintain detailed account information and sales activity within CRM platforms. Prepare weekly sales activity reports and monthly production updates.
Track sales goals, account performance, and forecasting data. Ensure timely follow-up and ongoing communication with prospective and existing clients. Requirements
Required
Minimum of 2+ years of hotel sales experience. At least 1 year in a leadership or senior sales role preferred. Proven ability to generate new business and meet or exceed revenue targets. Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and presentation skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Highly organized with strong follow-through and time-management skills.
Preferred
Extended-stay hospitality sales experience. Corporate, project-based, relocation, healthcare, or government-sales experience. Experience with local negotiated-rate agreements. Experience working with revenue management and forecasting processes.
