Chief Engineer

As Chief Engineer at ABM Industries, you will lead all building engineering operations for complex facilities, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient performance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems. You will plan and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, manage contractors, control budgets, and respond to emergencies. Partnering closely with clients and ABM leaders, you will uphold strict safety standards, mentor technicians, drive energy efficiency initiatives, and support ABM's culture of inclusion, teamwork, and continuous improvement across diverse environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of building mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and control systems
• Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs
• Supervise, schedule, and mentor engineering and maintenance staff
• Coordinate and oversee vendors and contractors for repairs and projects
• Monitor system performance to improve reliability and energy efficiency
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and building codes
• Respond to building emergencies and critical system issues
• Manage maintenance budgets, inventory, and work order systems
• Collaborate with clients to meet service expectations and resolve issues
• Promote ABM's culture of safety, inclusion, and continuous improvement
