The Marketing and Communications Assistant serves as an assistant to the Program
Director of Agency Development and Community Engagement. Full time, part time, or contracted applicants will be considered.
This role will build relationships with potential and existing stakeholders through social media networks, online platforms, in-person events, print marketing, and other methods of outreach. Duties include, but are not limited to, social media and print-based design, maintenance and engagement, website oversight and project-based work. This person must exhibit a professional agency image through in-person and virtual interactions. Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and manage social media and digital content that builds awareness of the
- Lead marketing and communications efforts focused on foster parent recruitment
- Educate the community about foster care and adoption, including realities, myths,
- Create monthly and season-specific donor appeals and fundraising content
- Develop content for key awareness months and observances.
- Create newsletters, publications, marketing materials, and other mission-focused
- Attend and photograph/video agency events and establish and maintain an archive
- Increase the organization's visibility and brand awareness through community
- Share stories, resources, and educational content that engage youth, families,
- Ensure consistency in terms of voice, branding, messaging, and frequency of
- Develop working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and partners
- Solicit donations, corporate sponsorships and partnerships for agency fundraisers
- Assist in donor and volunteer management
- Assist in grant writing by providing supplementary materials as needed
- Create and edit agency videos when needed
- Support staff in assigned project-based work and attend/support fundraisers and
- Assist with other administrative tasks as assigned
- 1–3 years of experience in marketing, communications, social media, public
- Strong writing, editing, storytelling, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience managing social media platforms and creating engaging digital
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and
- Strong understanding of branding, audience engagement, and community
- Proficiency with Canva and common social media platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field or equivalent
