QA Automation Engineer (.NET, Node.js & Azure)

Job Title: QA Automation Engineer (.NET, Node.js & Azure)
Location:  REMOTE
Duration: 6 Months Contract
 
Key Responsibilities
Test Automation & Quality Engineering
Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks across UI, API, and integration layers.
Develop and maintain end-to-end, integration, and regression test suites integrated directly into CI/CD pipelines.
Build reusable test harnesses, tooling, and utilities that enable Software Engineers to own testing of their own work.
Partner with engineers to design features for testability from the start — not test them after the fact.
Establish and champion automated quality standards, coverage targets, and best practices across the team.

API & Backend Test Automation
Build automated tests for RESTful APIs and backend services (.NET and Node.js).
Validate event-driven and asynchronous workflows (message queues, event streaming, Azure Service Bus).
Test data integrity across PostgreSQL and Azure SQL data stores.
CI/CD & Reliability Integrate automated test execution into Azure DevOps (or equivalent) build and release pipelines.
Build automated checks that support high-availability, high-concurrency production systems.
Contribute to observability and monitoring of test environments and production quality signals (Azure Monitor, Application Insights).
Collaboration Work closely with Software Engineers, product managers, and delivery leads throughout the development lifecycle.
Participate in code reviews and design discussions with a quality-and-testability lens.
Troubleshoot, triage,and help resolve defects and production quality issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications
10+ years of experience in test automation / software engineering in test (SDET/SET).
Strong hands-on experience building automated test frameworks (UI, API, integration, end-to-end).
Proficiency in at least one automation framework such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium, plus
an API testing tool (Postman, REST Assured, or similar).
Solid programming ability in JavaScript/TypeScript and/or C# (.NET) — you write real code, not just scripts.
Experience testing RESTful APIs and backend services.
Hands-on experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, preferably Azure DevOps.
Experience testingapplications on Microsoft Azure cloud services.
Experience working with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, Azure SQL) for data validation.
Demonstrated practice ofshift-left quality — building for testability and embedding automation
as part of delivery, not as a separate downstream phase.
Working knowledge of HIPAA and handling of protected health information (PHI) in test and production environments.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
Comfort using AI-assisted testing and development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) to generate, maintain, and accelerate test automation — a strong plus.
Experience testing contact center / telephony platforms (Five9, Genesys, Twilio, or similar CCaaS).
Experience with performance, load, or reliability testing of high-throughput systems.
Experience testing React front-end applications.
Experience with containerization (Docker) and cloud-native test environments.
Familiarity with additional compliance and data protection standards (SOC2, HITRUST, etc.).
Experience working in Agile / Scrum enterprise delivery models.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in
computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical
experience).
