Principal Software Engineer - Manufacturing & Enterprise Applications

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. seeks a Principal Applications Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of critical applications supporting manufacturing, supply chain, and enterprise operations. In this innovation-driven role, you will define technical architectures, integrate with manufacturing and ERP systems, and ensure reliability, performance, and security. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor engineers, and champion best practices, enabling scalable, high-quality solutions that advance safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement across Honda's U.S. operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and optimization of manufacturing and enterprise applications supporting Honda operations
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, and IT teams to define technical requirements and architectures
• Own end-to-end application lifecycle including design, coding standards, testing, deployment, and performance tuning
• Integrate applications with manufacturing systems, ERP, and data platforms to improve efficiency and quality
• Drive technical roadmap, best practices, and governance for application platforms
• Mentor and guide engineers, reviewing designs and code for scalability, reliability, and security
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and implement robust, sustainable fixes
• Contribute to innovation initiatives in automation, analytics, and Industry 4.0 solutions
