Job Summary: Lead, mentor, and develop software engineers who build critical testing infrastructure and embed across the software department

• Work with a variety of partners to synthesize a far-reaching team roadmap aligned with Muon's priorities
• Guide the execution of critical projects to deliver the best possible tested outcomes on the ground and in space
• Develop and track important quality and performance metrics to drive improvement across the department
• Collaborate with your leadership colleagues to architect organizational process that'll serve for years to come
• Manage team capacity, staffing, and growth, including hiring, coaching, and performance development
• Be a voice of responsible and compassionate leadership in a fast-growing, dynamic workplace

Qualifications

• BS/MS or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related field
• 5+ years of software engineering experience and 3+ years of experience managing software engineering teams building production systems
• Demonstrated experience managing effective testing teams and testing programs
• Proven track record managing teams building and maintaining reliable software tools
• Extensive experience with software project resource estimation and scheduling
• Accomplished history of hiring, training, and promoting software engineers
• Significant experience developing in languages such as C++, Python, or TypeScript
• Strong communication skills, and comfort working with cross-functional stakeholders

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Familiarity with statistical analysis methods
• Familiarity with failure analysis methods
• Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop software testing
• Experience with Software-in-the-Loop simulation testing
• Knowledge of manufacturing test automation and assembly process automation
• Experience building interactive reporting tools
• Familiarity with space industry technology, terminology, and practices
