Senior AWS Platform Engineer - SC Cleared

Contract: 6 months

Rate: Negotiable (Inside IR35)

Location: Mostly remote, occasional travel to London

Clearance: Active SC required

You'll design, build and own the AWS platform for a Python three-tier application. You'll set up secure, repeatable environments from scratch using Terraform, including:

• Kubernetes workloads
• GitHub Actions deployment pipelines
• Cross-account networking over Transit Gateway

You'll make sure the Front End, Middleware and Back End tiers connect and run securely. That means least-privilege access, encryption of data at rest and in transit, and clear security guardrails across accounts.

You'll work closely with the Python developers and the architecture and security teams. You'll help troubleshoot deployment and integration issues, and get the platform ready to run in production, with monitoring and logging in place.

You'll bring:

• Extensive hands-on experience running production AWS
• Terraform (IaC): building reusable modules
• Kubernetes and Docker in production
• CI/CD with GitHub Actions
• AWS IAM, including IRSA, cross-account roles and least privilege
• AWS networking: Transit Gateway, security groups and routing
• S3, KMS, Athena, ELB and EC2
• Encryption, key management and securing data at rest and in transit
• Good Python for automation and for supporting the development team

You'll be a hands-on senior engineer who can take the platform from infrastructure through to deployment.
