We are actively seeking a Production Lab Technician/Color Matcher in our Quality Lab in the business area of Surface Solutions. This position is a Day Shift 12-hour Position, alternating working Monday through Wednesday one week, then Thursday through Saturday the next week.  

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

• As a Production Lab Technician - you will function as an active team member within the lab and serve as a contact to support production
• In this role you will be required to operate and perform general maintenance on lab spectrophotometers, conduct equipment calibration and verification as scheduled, and correctly operate all lab testing equipment in accordance with applicable standards
• You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining standards and files for original color matches and for color computers; utilize and maintain color data files.
• Requirements as the Production Lab Technician are to troubleshoot color, hand and processing problems that may occur, and develop corrective actions
• In this role you will be required to analyze facts, draw conclusions and evaluate information and make recommendations to improve processes
• As a Production Lab Technician - you will be responsible for COA/COC testing, data and work with the lab production team
• You will be required to maintain a clean and safe environment at all times
• Your shift will be structured on a Day Shift 12-hour schedule, alternating working Monday through Wednesday one week, then Thursday through Saturday the next week.  There may be additional times when the schedule may change to support needs of the business.

THE ENVIRONMENT

Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures and guidelines must always be adhered to.  Applicants must be able to work in a manufacturing industrial environment and be able to wear personal protective equipment such as safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.  The use of a respirator may be required for specific job departments.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Ability to navigate data operating system to input manufacturing data, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Basic understanding of the IATF 16949 and ISO13485 standard as it applies to the lab duties
  • Must pass Munsell Color Test
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • English reading, writing and comprehension skills are required
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and able to stand and/or walk for an 8/10 or 12-hour shift if needed
  • Must have and maintain a good attendance record
  • Able to work in a variety of settings (office, manufacturing, lab, etc.)
  • Must be able to work in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • No relocation assistance is offered for this position

ADDITIONAL WAYS TO STAND OUT

  • 1+ years of lab manufacturing experience
  • Training in color theory, computer terminal operation and applied computer technology or equivalent experience
