Title: Senior IT Project Manager-(Research)

Our client is a leading private research university. Based out of New Orleans, Louisiana, they are looking to hire a Senior IT Project Manager on a full-time basis.
This is an opportunity to lead meaningful technology initiatives that directly support research, academic, and institutional operations within a highly respected university environment. The ideal candidate enjoys navigating complex stakeholder environments, driving Agile project delivery, and helping diverse teams successfully execute impactful technology projects. You'll work closely with researchers, business stakeholders, technical teams, and leadership while influencing projects with broad institutional visibility.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Experience leading technology projects that support research, academic research, scientific research, research computing, or similar research-focused environments
  • Ability to work directly with researchers, faculty, principal investigators (PIs), and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Agile/Scrum project management experience
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent IT projects
  • Strong stakeholder communication and relationship management skills
  • Experience facilitating meetings and driving project outcomes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Agile planning tools such as Jira, Rally, VersionOne, or similar platforms
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and dependencies
  • Experience working with both technical and non-technical teams
  • Ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership and project stakeholders
  • Experience gathering requirements, documenting project needs, and supporting project planning activities

  • Coordinate technical and business stakeholders
  • Monitor project scope, schedule, risks, and deliverables
  • Support project teams in resolving roadblocks
  • Communicate project status to leadership and stakeholders
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Assist in requirements gathering and project planning
  • Mentor team members on Agile best practices
  • Drive continuous process improvement initiatives
