Quick Summary

Our client is seeking a Business Applications Engineering Manager to lead and develop a team of software developers and QA professionals supporting critical enterprise applications. This position focuses heavily on people management, coaching, Agile/Scrum leadership, and engineering delivery rather than hands-on development. The ideal candidate will help improve team performance, establish effective Scrum practices, and collaborate with Product and business leadership to drive successful application delivery.

Daily Tasks & Key Responsibilities

• Directly lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 5–6 software developers and 2–3 QA professionals.
• Guide the team's transition from Kanban to Scrum, establishing sprint planning, daily standups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Manage day-to-day engineering activities, team performance, workloads, and development priorities.
• Partner with Product Managers, Architecture, Security, Operations, and business stakeholders to align engineering initiatives with business objectives.
• Oversee application development, production releases, testing, CI/CD processes, and overall delivery quality.
• Coordinate cross-functional projects, manage dependencies, remove roadblocks, and ensure timely delivery.
• Lead escalated production incidents, coordinate troubleshooting efforts, and drive timely issue resolution.
• Communicate project status, milestones, risks, and priorities to leadership and business stakeholders.
• Promote engineering best practices, continuous improvement, and a collaborative team environment.
• Support enterprise business applications, including Salesforce, MuleSoft, and related integrations.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience directly managing software engineering, application development, or QA teams, including individual coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
• Strong Agile/Scrum leadership experience, including facilitating Scrum ceremonies and improving team delivery practices.
• Experience managing software development teams and coordinating application delivery across multiple stakeholders.
• Strong people leadership, relationship-building, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Experience overseeing application releases, production support, incident management, and software quality.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD, automated testing, and software engineering best practices.
• Experience managing competing priorities, project dependencies, risks, and delivery timelines.
• Experience using Jira or similar Agile project management tools.
• Ability to work independently, build team accountability, and drive organizational improvements.
• Ability to work onsite in Eden Prairie, MN, four days per week.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting Salesforce, MuleSoft, CRM platforms, or enterprise application integrations.
• Scrum Master, SAFe, or other Agile certifications.
• Familiarity with Bitbucket, GitHub, DevOps, and test-driven development practices.
• Experience managing geographically distributed or offshore engineering teams.
• Experience guiding teams through organizational change or Agile transformations.
