Product Owner

1) Project background:

• The initiative referred to as Phase 3 under Universe One, but is actually Phase 2 of the legal project.
• The project consists of multiple workstreams and stakeholders across different teams.
• Stephanie serves as Business Solutions Director for HR and Corporate Functions, including Legal. She currently performs many Product Owner responsibilities herself.
• The legal team is highly engaged but lacks formal project management experience.
• During Phase 1, she was able to manage the work independently. Due to the increased scope and complexity of Phase 2, additional leadership support is required.

The project aims to improve the end-to-end legal contract process through:

• Process improvements
• Technical enhancements
• System integrations
• Marketing/branding-related changes
• AI integration into contract management workflows

2) Scope:

• The new Product Owner will:
  • Partner closely with Stephanie and own day-to-day project execution. Drive progress across various workstreams.
  • Help manage stakeholder alignment.
  • Ensure requirements and deliverables move forward efficiently.
  • Coordinate across several areas:
    • Legal Team - Assist the team because they are not accustomed to Agile delivery methods or project governance. Help facilitate requirements gathering and project coordination.
    • Agiloft / Vendor Management - Support work involving Agiloft's Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platform. Help manage collaboration with implementation partners and vendors.
    • AI Integration - Support implementation of Agiloft AI capabilities.
    • Internal Integration Work
    • Cross-Functional Coordination - Collaborate with business teams and commercial teams. Manage activities across multiple stakeholders and initiatives simultaneously.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Own and maintain the LCR product vision, roadmap, backlog, and success metrics
    • Own and maintain LCR Backlog refinement, user story creation, and detailed feature estimation
    • Prioritize features that reduce contract cycle time, improve user experience, and increase reviewer productivity
    • Partner with Legal stakeholders, Negotiation Consultants, and Commercial teams to define requirements and validate business value.
    • Drive adoption, measurement, and continuous improvement through data-driven insights and stakeholder feedback
    • Ensure solutions are scalable, governable, and aligned with the future-state contract review operating model
    • Ensure product readiness to increase contract throughput reviewer capacity, and reduce review cycle time.

3) Requirements:

• MUST
  • At least 10+ years of experience with significant Product Owner or Project Management experience and ability to work at a senior stakeholder level.
  • Have strong communication skills to communicate effectively across business and technical teams. Work closely with legal stakeholders, build relationships and maintain alignment across multiple groups.
  • Assist in requirement gathering. Define and document business processes. Help clarify project scope and deliverables, and map requirements into actionable work.
  • Be able to operate independently. Require minimal oversight. Drive initiatives forward without heavy management. Execute effectively once objectives are established.
  • Be able to navigate ambiguity, solve issues proactively, coordinate stakeholders and remove obstacles.
• PREFERRED
  • Prior experience supporting legal organizations or legal technology projects is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with contract lifecycle management (CLM) processes would be beneficial.
  • Experience with Agiloft CLM.
  • Familiarity with Agiloft AI functionality.
  • Ability to work on-site approximately 2-3 days per week to facilitate collaboration with the Legal team and strengthen stakeholder engagement.
