Job Description
Monadelphous is seeking an experienced HSE Lead to join our PNG Operations team on a permanent, full-time basis. Based in our Brisbane Head Office, this Monday to Friday role will also involve periodic short-term travel to project sites in Papua New Guinea.
Reporting to the HSE Manager, you will lead the delivery of HSE programs, systems, and initiatives across the Business Unit, providing expert advice and support to ensure compliance, manage risk, and drive a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key responsibilities include:- Provide expert HSE advice and support to business leaders, project teams and operational personnel, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, company standards and industry best practice.
- Lead and support HSE assurance activities, including audits, inspections, risk assessments and compliance reviews, to identify improvement opportunities and strengthen operational HSE performance.
- Lead significant incident investigations and coach site HSE personnel and operational leaders through the investigation process, ensuring underlying and systemic causes are identified and effective corrective actions are developed and implemented.
- Support the development and delivery of HSE training and competency initiatives, including Training Needs Analysis (TNA), identification of competency gaps, training planning, delivery and evaluation of training effectiveness.
- Champion a proactive safety culture by promoting HSE standards, influencing positive behaviours, Delivering the safe way (DTSW) and embedding the principle that "The Safe Way is the Only Way."
- Diploma in OHS/WHS or higher - essential.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) - desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in training and competency management, including understanding of Training Needs Analysis (TNA), competency gap identification, training planning, delivery and evaluation of training effectiveness.
- Demonstrated incident investigation capability, including the ability to lead significant investigations, identify underlying and systemic causes, develop effective corrective actions, and coach and support site HSE personnel and operational leaders through the investigation process.
- Strong knowledge of HSE management systems, legislation, risk management practices and industry standards.
- Proficiency in HSE reporting systems and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint, to produce high-quality reports and presentations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, coach and support leaders and operational teams.
- Proof of right to work in Australia and a valid passport.
