Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to support complex data analysis, operations research, software integration and testing, and advanced analytics in support of mission and program objectives. This position will apply statistical, mathematical, programming, and data science techniques to collect, process, analyze, and interpret complex datasets. The Data Analyst will work with a variety of data sources and technologies, including structured and unstructured data, SQL and NoSQL databases, APIs, ETL pipelines, search indexes, and analytical programming tools. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with operations research, data science, statistical analysis, and programming languages such as Python and R. Responsibilities

  • Perform data analysis, data mining, statistical analysis, and operations research to support program and mission objectives.
  • Apply complex mathematical and statistical concepts to analyze data, identify trends and relationships, and develop actionable insights.
  • Develop and execute analytical methodologies, models, and techniques to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Perform software integration and testing activities, including analyzing, developing, and implementing test plans and test scripts.
  • Use scripting and programming languages, including Python and R, to conduct data analysis and advanced analytics.
  • Utilize commonly used data science and analytics packages and tools, including Jupyter Notebook, Pandas, NumPy, Requests, and related technologies.
  • Apply data science, data mining, statistical, and graph-based algorithms to support analytical objectives.
  • Develop and utilize Structured Query Language (SQL) and NoSQL technologies to access, manipulate, and analyze data.
  • Support Application Programming Interface (API) development and integration to facilitate data access and exchange.
  • Develop, maintain, and utilize Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) pipelines to collect, process, transform, and prepare data for analysis.
  • Work with web application servers, search indexes, databases, and other data management technologies.
  • Analyze and integrate data from multiple sources to support complex analytical requirements.
  • Apply statistical and operations research methods, tools, and techniques to solve complex analytical problems.
  • Use spreadsheets and other analytical tools for data manipulation, analysis, visualization, and reporting.
  • Develop data visualizations and analytical products to communicate findings and support mission requirements.
  • Conduct data validation and quality checks to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of analytical results.
  • Document analytical methodologies, processes, findings, and results.
  • Collaborate with technical teams, analysts, program managers, and other stakeholders to identify data requirements and develop effective analytical solutions.
  • Support continuous improvement of data analysis processes, tools, methodologies, and technical solutions. Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field is desired.
  • A Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) may be substituted for the Master's degree with an additional five (5) years of relevant professional experience.
  • Ten (10) years of experience in operations research is desired.
  • Demonstrated experience applying statistical, mathematical, analytical, and operations research methods to complex problems.
  • Experience with data science, data mining, advanced analytics, or statistical analysis.
  • Experience with software integration and/or testing, including the development or implementation of test plans and scripts.
  • Experience using scripting or programming languages such as Python and R.
  • Experience with SQL, NoSQL, APIs, ETL pipelines, or related data technologies.
  • Experience working with data science and analytical tools such as Jupyter Notebook, Pandas, NumPy, or similar technologies.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, statistical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with complex datasets and translate analytical findings into meaningful conclusions and recommendations.
  • Ability to use spreadsheets and other analytical tools for data manipulation, visualization, and reporting.
  • Active Top Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant industry certification in data science, cloud computing, cybersecurity, database technologies, or related technical disciplines.
  • Experience with big data, advanced analytics, machine learning, or graph algorithms.
  • Experience developing or supporting APIs, ETL pipelines, search indexes, or web application environments.
  • Experience supporting U.S. Government or Department of Defense programs.
  • Experience working with complex, multi-source datasets in a mission-focused environment.
