Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Vert.x, and Cassandra to join the Client’s engineering team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience building scalable backend services, RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven applications.

Prior Client’s experience is mandatory, with specific experience involving data ingestion to Lumi from any database.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Vert.x.
• Develop and integrate applications with Cassandra, including query design, data modeling, and performance optimization.
• Build robust RESTful APIs and microservices for high-volume distributed systems.
• Develop reactive and asynchronous applications using Vert.x and reactive programming paradigms.
• Design and implement event-driven architectures using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging platforms.
• Work on data ingestion solutions to Lumi from databases within the Client’s environment.
• Apply software engineering best practices including clean code, design patterns, unit testing, debugging, and code reviews.
• Develop containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot to improve development productivity and code quality.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and contribute to system scalability, reliability, and performance.

Required Skills & Experience

• 7–10+ years of professional software development experience.
• 6+ years of hands-on Java backend development.
• Strong expertise in:
• Java
• Spring Boot
• Vert.x
• Cassandra
• Strong experience with Vert.x and reactive programming.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and event-driven architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Cassandra database, including query development and application integration.
• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging systems.
• Experience with asynchronous processing and distributed systems.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of software design patterns, clean code, testing, debugging, and code reviews.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, such as GitHub Copilot.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
