Job Description

Assistant Project Manager Birmingham Commerical Office Fit-Out Sector £30,000 - £45,000 The company are an incredibly successfully main contractor in the commercial office fit-out sector, delivering beautiful workspaces across the country.

Key Responsibilities Managing day-to-day project administration and maintaining accurate project documentation<br />Supporting Project Managers with scheduling, reporting, and general coordination<br />Communicating with subcontractors and suppliers to keep works running to programme<br />Assisting with and improving buying and procurement processes<br />Raising purchase orders and helping track orders, deliveries, and costs<br />Attending site visits with Project Managers<br />Taking site notes, snagging lists, and tracking actions to completion<br />Helping ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the expected quality standards Areas of Focus Procurement &amp; Buying Source, negotiate, and purchase materials, fixtures, fittings, and subcontractor services.<br />Obtain and evaluate quotations to ensure best value on price, quality, and delivery.<br />Raise purchase orders and maintain procurement schedules.<br />Expand the current supply chain and forge new relationships with alternative subcontractors.<br />Build and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and subcontractors.<br />Monitor supplier performance and address issues such as delays, quality concerns, or pricing discrepancies.<br />Ensure materials comply with project specifications and company standards.

Project Support &amp; Coordination Assist Project Managers with day-to-day project coordination activities.<br />Support preparation of project plans, schedules, and resource requirements.<br />Track project costs and budgets; highlight variances and potential risks.<br />Coordinate delivery schedules with site teams to meet programme timelines.<br />Prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports, records, and correspondence.

Administration &amp; Documentation Maintain accurate procurement records and supplier databases.<br />Support preparation of tender packs and documentation when required.<br />Assist with compiling O&amp;M manuals, handover packs, and project completion documents.<br />Manage internal filing systems and ensure documentation is compliant and up to date.

Compliance &amp; Quality Ensure procurement activities follow company policies and procedures.<br />Support adherence to health &amp; safety, quality, and environmental standards.<br />Assist with ensuring materials meet required compliance regulations.<br />Ensure all current accreditations are kept up to date and apply for any new accreditations that are required
