Functional Business Analyst Location: Washington, D.C. area (hybrid) Blue Rose Consulting Group, Inc. (Blue Rose) is seeking a motivated Functional Business Analyst to support a federal client in delivering mission-critical ServiceNow solutions within an Agile environment. In this role, you will serve as a key member of a ServiceNow Scrum Team, partnering with business stakeholders, product owners, developers, and technical teams to gather requirements, refine features, and support the delivery of high-quality software solutions. You will play an integral role in translating business needs into actionable user stories, coordinating testing efforts, managing defects, and ensuring solutions align with mission objectives, operational requirements, and performance standards.
What You'll Do As a Functional Business Analyst, you will:
- Participate as an active member of a ServiceNow Scrum Team, contributing to all phases of the Agile software development lifecycle
- Gather, analyze, document, and validate business and functional requirements while engaging stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of project objectives
- Write user stories, define acceptance criteria, refine product features, and support backlog grooming activities with product owners and development teams
- Collaborate closely with developers and technical teams to ensure solutions align with business objectives and functional requirements
- Coordinate system testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), validation of new features, and production readiness activities
- Identify, track, and support resolution of software defects throughout development and testing cycles
- Develop and maintain product documentation, training materials, and user-facing support documentation
- Manage and maintain automated test scripts to support ongoing software quality and delivery efficiency
- Facilitate requirements workshops, feature refinement sessions, and stakeholder meetings to support project delivery.

- Full-time (40 hours/week)
- Hybrid work environment
- Must be local to the Washington, D.C. area and available to support onsite activities approximately 25% of the time Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Active Secret Clearance required
- Minimum of 0-2 years experience with Agile Fundamentals
- Minimum of 0-2 years experience using Atlassian Jira or similar Agile project management tools
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience using Microsoft Excel for reporting, analysis, or project support
- Experience gathering, documenting, analyzing, and validating business and functional requirements
- Experience writing user stories, supporting backlog refinement, or participating in Agile delivery activities
- Experience supporting software testing, defect tracking, or quality assurance activities
- Experience translating business requirements into functional solution recommendations
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, product owners, developers, and technical teams
- Strong attention to detail when managing both technical and user-facing documentation
- Ability to adapt to evolving project needs and proactively address challenges
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting ServiceNow implementations, enhancements, or platform configuration
- Experience supporting federal government programs or secure environments
- Experience working within Agile Scrum teams and iterative software delivery environments
- Familiarity with automated testing tools, test script management, or software quality assurance practices
- Experience creating comprehensive product documentation, training materials, user guides, or knowledge management resources
