Business Analyst

The IT Strategy & Integration Manager will lead technology assessments for prospective and acquired health systems, conducting comprehensive gap analyses between acquired environments and Client Health technology standards. The role will translate assessment findings into actionable demand requests, business cases, and integration roadmaps and guide those initiatives through the IT governance and demand management process. This position serves as the primary liaison between acquisition stakeholders, enterprise architecture, applications, and operational leaders to ensure effective technology integration and standardization. This individual should be comfortable operating as a hands-on individual contributor who can get into the details, drive assessments forward, and work independently through complex application and integration workflows.

What the role actually needs to do

1. IT Due Diligence / Gap Assessment
• Assess acquired hospital technology environments, documenting the target hospital's current-state processes and applications.
• Compare current-state applications, infrastructure, integrations, cybersecurity, data platforms, and clinical systems against Novant standards.
• Identify and analyze gaps, risks, redundancies, costs, and opportunities against Novant standards.
• Identify business impacts and workflow differences through interviews and requirements gathering.
• Develop transition and rationalization recommendations (retained, replaced, sunsetted, or integrated).

1. Post-Acquisition Intake & Demand Management
• Translate identified gaps into initiatives, projects, and enhancement requests. Creating business cases and intake artifacts for demand management
• Prioritize work through governance processes.
• Manage application onboarding, replacement, retirement, and optimization requests.
• Coordinate with business, clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders.

3. Integration Planning
• Coordinate application migrations and standardization efforts.
• Build these efforts into the overall Program Integration Plan/Roadmap
• Track dependencies, timelines, and business impacts for those efforts.
• Support synergy and value realization targets.

Must Have

• Strong Gap analysis and business process assessment- 5 years of experience
• Strong IT due diligence experience- 5 years of experience
• Service Now Experience- 3 years +
• 2 to 3+ years of healthcare provider IT experience preferred as a baseline, with stronger consideration given to candidates who also bring deep due diligence, gap assessment, and ServiceNow experience.
• Application portfolio management.
• Demand management/governance.
• Stakeholder management across clinical and operational areas.

Strongly Preferred

• Hospital acquisition/integration experience.
• Enterprise architecture background.
• Epic ecosystem knowledge.

Nice to Have

• PMP, CBAP, TOGAF, Lean, or Prosci.
• Experience with healthcare interoperability (HL7, FHIR, interfaces).

Education/Certifications

Bachelor's Degree required Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, Informatics, Information Systems, or a related field.

Master’s degree is not required, as the hiring team emphasized that relevant on-the-job experience is more important for this role.
