Job Description

Linux Production Support Engineer

Location: San Antonio, TX
Work Arrangement: 100% On-Site
No relocation.

We are seeking a Linux Production Support Engineer to diagnose and resolve complex Linux, software, hardware, and network issues in production environments. This role will work closely with Engineering and Operations teams to identify root causes, implement solutions, improve system reliability, and support day-to-day infrastructure operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot complex Linux, application, networking, and server hardware issues in production environments.
  • Analyze system and application logs to identify root causes and resolve technical issues.
  • Support production infrastructure and system reliability initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, troubleshooting procedures, and support processes.
  • Create and maintain basic automation scripts using Python or Bash.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and other technical teams to resolve technical issues.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Linux administration experience; RHEL and/or Ubuntu preferred.
  • 1+ year of server hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and the OSI model.
  • Experience analyzing system and application logs.
  • Proficiency with Python or Bash scripting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
  • CJIS Certification required.

  • Must currently live in San Antonio, TX and be available to work 100% on-site.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a Systems Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role.
  • Knowledge of Docker, Podman, and container networking.
  • Experience with AWS, Grafana, ServiceNow, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL, Redis, SQLite, or MongoDB.
  • Cybersecurity or EDR tool experience.
  • RHCE certification preferred.
