About the Role

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Python AWS Cloud Engineer to design, develop, and operate highly scalable, secure, and reliable cloud-native applications on AWS. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Python backend development, AWS serverless and container services, microservices, event-driven architecture, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, observability, and SRE practices.

This role requires an engineer who can work across application development and cloud infrastructure while contributing to architectural decisions, operational excellence, security, performance, and cost optimization. Strong technical leadership and communication skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement AWS cloud-native architectures, including microservices, event-driven, serverless, and containerized solutions that meet defined availability, latency, scalability, and disaster recovery requirements.
• Develop and maintain Python backend services using frameworks such as FastAPI and Flask, including REST API design, data validation, authentication, and integration with downstream systems.
• Design and develop APIs and backend services following scalable, secure, and maintainable API design principles.
• Build and operate AWS serverless workloads using services such as AWS Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, and Step Functions.
• Implement appropriate IAM policies and security controls, including least-privilege access, concurrency controls, secrets management, and performance optimization for serverless workloads.
• Containerize and deploy applications using Docker and AWS container platforms such as ECS/Fargate and/or EKS/Kubernetes.
• Configure container resource sizing, autoscaling, health checks, deployment strategies, and production rollouts.
• Implement asynchronous processing and event-driven patterns using Amazon SQS, SNS, and EventBridge; experience with MSK/Kafka or Kinesis is a plus.
