Job Description

Introduction:

We are seeking an experienced ECS Storage Engineer to join our team as an ECS Resident Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for providing residency support for an enterprise ECS environment, focusing on health, stabilization, performance, troubleshooting, operational assistance, and knowledge transfer.

Responsibilities:

  • Review ECS clusters and nodes to assess overall health and configuration.
  • Perform capacity assessments and identify current and future capacity requirements.
  • Review hardware and networking configurations for potential risks or issues.
  • Analyze system alerts, logs, and events to identify and resolve problems.
  • Conduct performance reviews and recommend optimization opportunities.
  • Troubleshoot complex ECS issues and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Identify operational and infrastructure risks and recommend remediation strategies.
  • Apply ECS operational best practices to improve stability, performance, and reliability.
  • Participate in discussions related to ECS cluster expansion and future growth.
  • Provide day-to-day operational assistance for the ECS environment.
  • Work closely with the customer team through side-by-side technical working sessions.
  • Provide technical knowledge transfer through observation, participation, and hands-on collaboration.
  • Support troubleshooting, issue resolution, and ongoing environment stabilization activities.

Required Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience with ECS.
  • Experience with ECS cluster and node administration.
  • Strong understanding of ECS architecture, capacity, hardware, and networking.
  • Experience with ECS monitoring, alerts, logs, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong performance analysis and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Experience supporting enterprise storage environments.
  • Ability to work directly with customer technical teams in an onsite residency model.
  • Strong communication and knowledge-transfer skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with ECS implementation and administration.
  • Experience with ECS upgrades, expansions, and capacity planning.
  • Enterprise data center and storage troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with networking and infrastructure components supporting ECS.
