Job Description

Boutique Claims Firm based out of Houston. Position is remote but prefers a Texas-based candidate.

Responsibilities

• Handle a caseload of primarily litigated commercial general liability claims, focusing on premises liability cases.

• Lead and direct independent adjusters and defense counsel as needed to efficiently manage claims.

• Investigate complex claims to evaluate exposure, determine liability, and negotiate settlements within authority levels.

• Develop and implement action plans to resolve claims promptly and effectively.

• Monitor and assign reserves accurately, ensuring financial integrity throughout the lifecycle of claims.

• Participate in litigation processes and cost containment strategies alongside legal teams.

• Communicate claim status and activities with supervisors, brokers, agents, and clients professionally.

• Mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

• Stay current with relevant laws, statutes, and industry standards affecting premises liability claims.

Experience and Qualifications

• Minimum of 7-10 years experience managing catastrophic commercial general liability claims, preferably with premises liability and multi-family real estate focus.

• Proven litigated claims handling expertise.

• Active multi-state casualty adjuster license required.

• Strong understanding of multi-state general laws and contractual language.

Skills and Attributes

• Proficiency in automated claims management systems (RMIS) and paperless environments.

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with a proactive and detail-oriented approach.

• Commitment to company core values, teamwork, and maintaining confidentiality.

• High School Diploma required.

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution preferred.

• Multi-state Licensed Casualty Adjuster mandatory.

• Professional designations such as AIC, CPCU, or ARM are highly desirable.

• Experience handling premises liability claims including slip and fall and wrongful death cases is a plus.
