Job Description

Position: GA DOL Computer Operator 2

Location: Atlanta, GA 30303
Client: State of Georgia
Duration: 12+ Months
Job Description: Operate and monitor mainframe/central IT systems and related peripherals, ensuring high-quality, defect-free printed output and reliable statewide access. This role supports a large data center environment with emphasis on system monitoring, vendor coordination, and incident response. Weekend shift with additional weekday hours required.
  • Technical skills and experience:
    • Computer Operations in a large Data Center; Network Operations Center (NOC) experience
    • Production Control; knowledge of ITIL, Change/Incident/Asset Management
    • Experience with Control-M and TPE/BPE Manager
    • Data Center infrastructure: security, HVAC, electrical, UPS, generators, raised floor, fire detection/suppression
    • Networking: LAN/WAN, MPLS, TCP/IP, SNA
    • Distributed servers (AIX, Linux, Windows)
    • Automated job schedulers and hardware/software maintenance contracts
    • Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery
    • Microsoft Office proficiency; experience with IT infrastructure management tools
