Job Overview

 

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and technically proficient Data Engineer with deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform and data pipeline orchestration. The ideal candidate brings strong retail domain knowledge, hands-on experience with big data ecosystems, and a proven ability to architect and optimize scalable, modular data solutions. This is a senior SME-level role with cross-functional leadership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

 

• Architect and optimize data pipelines using Airflow, BigQuery, and Google Cloud Platform-native tools to support scalable, reusable workflows
• Analyze and resolve data quality issues across platforms like Amperity, Acxiom, and other CDPs
• Design and implement modular, production-grade code for data ingestion, transformation, and measurement workflows
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting frameworks using Looker and BigQuery
• Serve as SME in data engineering and analytics; mentor junior analysts and promote data governance best practices
• Apply agentic AI techniques to automate insight generation and enhance personalization and marketing intelligence

Required Skills

 

• Hands-on expertise with Google Cloud Platform: BigQuery, Cloud Composer (Airflow), Dataflow, Looker
• Strong experience with Customer Data Platforms — Amperity, Acxiom, or similar
• Proficiency in SQL and Python for analytics and engineering workflows
• Deep understanding of CRM data structures, personalization logic, and campaign execution
• Proven retail industry experience with knowledge of customer behaviour, merchandising, and omnichannel strategies

Preferred Skills

 

• Experience with agentic AI frameworks or similar technologies
