Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior SharePoint Migration Lead / Consultant to lead a large-scale enterprise migration of approximately 30 TB of file share data from AWS FSx to Microsoft Teams and SharePoint Online across 23 business departments.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on SharePoint migration experience, ShareGate, PowerShell, NTFS permissions, and Microsoft 365 expertise, along with excellent project leadership, stakeholder management, and end-user adoption skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end migration of enterprise file shares from AWS FSx to SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams.

• Develop migration strategies, project schedules, and multi-wave migration plans.

• Perform migration discovery, assessment, and inventory using ShareGate and PowerShell.

• Analyze and remediate broken or embedded file links in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Map NTFS permissions, Active Directory groups, and access controls to SharePoint and Teams.

• Design SharePoint information architecture, including sites, libraries, permissions, and governance.

• Execute migrations while preserving metadata, security, and permissions.

• Coordinate migration validation and obtain business sign-off from department leads.

• Work with Microsoft Purview retention labels, policies, data classification, and archiving.

• Lead stakeholder communication, user training, lunch-and-learn sessions, and adoption activities.

• Track project progress, risks, dependencies, and deliverables.

• Provide regular status updates to project managers and executive stakeholders.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience with SharePoint and Microsoft 365.

• Experience leading at least two enterprise-scale file share to SharePoint Online / Teams migrations.

• Strong hands-on experience with ShareGate migration tools.

• Strong PowerShell scripting experience (PnP PowerShell / SharePoint Online Management Shell).

• Experience with multi-TB enterprise file share migrations.

• Strong knowledge of Windows file servers, NTFS permissions, ACLs, Active Directory, and Entra ID.

• Experience identifying and fixing embedded or hardcoded links in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Strong SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams architecture and governance experience.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Purview retention labels and policies.

• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, project leadership, and end-user training skills.

• Ability to manage multiple migration waves and work with cross-functional teams.

• Must be willing to work onsite in Houston, TX.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS FSx or hybrid cloud file storage.

• Experience in utilities, energy, or regulated industries.

• Knowledge of data classification, retention, compliance, and archiving.

• Experience with complex Excel financial models, macros, and external data connections.

• Microsoft 365, Teams Administrator, or PMP certifications.

• Previous experience with large enterprise migration programs.
