Job Description

Senior Software Engineer AWS Cloud
Deliver secure, scalable cloud-native solutions using AWS, Java, Python and modern DevOps practices on a major government technology program. This role requires full-time onsite attendance in Canberra for the first 3 months, with hybrid arrangements considered afterward.

Work Arrangement:Hybird
Contract Duration: Contract to 30 June 2027 with 2 x 12-month extension options
Security Clearance Requirement: Must hold an AGSVA NV1 clearance

Essential Tasks

Design and develop cloud-native applications, APIs, microservices and integrations on AWS.
Build serverless and containerised solutions using Lambda, ECS, EKS and related AWS services.
Develop Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines using Terraform, CloudFormation or AWS CDK.
Provide technical leadership across design, development, deployment and operational support.

Key Criteria

Senior software development expertise across complex applications and cloud solutions.
Strong AWS cloud-native development experience with Java, Python, Node.js or TypeScript.
Experience designing complex software and systems using secure, scalable architecture patterns.
Strong systems integration, automation, CI/CD and technical leadership capability.
