Senior Business Systems Analyst / Underwriting Workflows

A leading organization in the insurance and risk management industry is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst for a full-time opportunity. This role will serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, helping deliver solutions that support critical insurance operations and customer-facing platforms. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in business analysis along with prior experience working within an insurance environment, where they have developed an understanding of policy administration, underwriting processes, compliance requirements, and complex business workflows

You'll play a highly visible role leading discovery sessions, driving stakeholder alignment, and helping shape products that directly impact core business functions.
Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role
• Prior experience working within the insurance industry
• Strong understanding of insurance business processes and operational workflows
• Experience gathering, documenting, and refining business and system requirements
• Expertise translating business objectives into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria
• Experience supporting Agile software delivery teams
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies
• Experience with testing, requirements validation, and UAT activities
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to write and analyze SQL queries
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Desired Skills & Experience

• Experience supporting underwriting, policy administration, risk assessment, or related insurance functions
• Familiarity with end-to-end policy lifecycle processes
• Experience creating process maps, wireframes, and workflow documentation
• Exposure to customer-facing applications and digital platforms
• Understanding of regulatory, privacy, and data governance requirements
• Experience with automated testing and quality assurance practices
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and SharePoint environments
• Experience working with cross-functional product, development, and data teams
