Electrical Harness Connector Engineer / Library Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Harness Connector Engineer / Library Engineer to manage, catalog, validate, and maintain the electrical connector and component libraries used across vehicle electrical and mechanical engineering toolchains.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Siemens Capital Harness tools and CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX), along with a solid understanding of automotive electrical connectors, harness components, component data management, and engineering library processes.

This position will play an important role in ensuring accurate, validated, standardized, and readily accessible connector data for electrical and mechanical engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and catalog electrical harness connectors and interfaces within Siemens Capital Harness and CATIA 3DX.
• Maintain accurate and consistent connector/component data across engineering platforms.
• Own the cataloging and validation of connector portfolios covering low-voltage, high-voltage, and high-speed interfaces.
• Evaluate electrical and mechanical connector parameters, including:
  • Pinout and pin assignments
  • Current and voltage ratings
  • Signal integrity
  • Mating cycles
  • Sealing requirements
  • Keying and polarization
  • Connector configuration and interface characteristics
• Support connector and component library creation, maintenance, validation, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with electrical engineering, harness design, mechanical engineering, manufacturing, and supplier quality teams.
• Establish and improve best practices for connector/component library management.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for connector library and component-data-related questions.
• Ensure engineering teams have reliable, accurate, and up-to-date component information.
• Support data governance, configuration management, and engineering change processes related to connector libraries.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Siemens Capital Tool Suite, including Capital Logic, Capital Component Manager, or related Capital modules.
• Hands-on experience with CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE / CATIA 3DX.
• Experience managing electrical component, connector, or harness libraries.
• Strong understanding of electrical connectors and harness components.
• Experience with component data management, validation, or engineering library processes.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong attention to detail and data-quality discipline.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with automotive electrical systems or wiring harness development.
• Knowledge of HV/LV electrical connectors.
• Experience with high-speed interfaces such as Ethernet, Coax, FAKRA, GMSL/GMSL2, or similar technologies.
• Familiarity with harness design and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with PLM/PDM systems.
• Knowledge of configuration management and engineering change processes.
• Experience working with supplier/component data and engineering standards.
