Growth Engineer

ClickHouse is looking for Growth Engineers who are obsessed with both craft UI and agentic experiences. You care about the button, the empty state, and the agent that helps someone get unstuck, and you care equally about whether any of it moved the number.

You’ll join our growth pod to build experimentation infrastructure, onboarding flows, and product surfaces across the self-serve funnel: classic human UI and AI-assisted / agent-driven flows. You’ll work side by side with unified console engineers, but your mandate is speed and impact: ship something testable, measure it, and iterate. You’re motivated by moving a number and learning fast, more than by getting every detail right on the first try.

This is a new role at ClickHouse. You’ll help define what growth engineering looks like here: PLG experimentation that spans human and agentic experiences. You’ll work closely with product, design, and data science on one pod, and partner with unified console and app teams on shared product surfaces.

What you will do:

• Build and ship experiments across the self-serve funnel: signup, onboarding, activation, and monetization flows.

• Design and polish human UI (flows, forms, empty states, navigation, microcopy surfaces) with a high bar for clarity and conversion.

• Design and ship agentic experiences (AI-assisted onboarding, in-product agents, guided workflows) that help users reach value faster.

• Run disciplined experiments on both: hypothesis, instrumentation, ship, learn. Tools like GrowthBook are part of the day-to-day.

• Partner closely with product, design, and data science to go from idea to shipped experiment quickly.

• Work within the Cloud Console codebase alongside unified console engineers, and partner with app teams (including Observability, Agents, and Postgres) on strong end-to-end user flows.

• Obsess over metrics: acquisition, activation, and monetization. You want proof that what you shipped moved the needle.

Requirements:

• Experienced in full-stack product engineering (TypeScript / Node / React), ideally including time on a growth, product, or experimentation-focused team.

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and React, with real taste for product UI.

• Experience building with LLMs or agent patterns in a product (tool calling, streaming, evals, system/prompt design), or a clear track record of shipping AI features you measured and iterated on.

• Comfortable shipping a smaller, testable version of an idea first, then iterating based on what you learn.

• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and JSON.

• Experience with experimentation or A/B testing tools (e.g. GrowthBook, Optimizely, LaunchDarkly), or strong interest in building that muscle.

• Proficient with Git and collaborative code review.

• Excellent communication skills. You’ll work daily with PM, design, data science, marketing, and other engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• You’ve shipped both polished UI experiments and agentic / AI-assisted product experiences (not just prototypes), with instrumentation and iteration.

• Experience on a growth or product-led-growth team, ideally at a company with a self-serve funnel.

• Experience with ClickHouse or other data-intensive/analytics products.

• Familiarity with Auth0 or similar auth integrations.

• Experience working closely with (but not necessarily reporting into) a separate platform or infrastructure engineering team.

• You have opinions on what makes great human UX and great agent UX, and you use AI heavily in your own workflow.
