Lead Avionics Manufacturing Engineer

In this Lead Avionics Manufacturing Engineer opportunity in Hawthorne, CA, you’ll help define how flight-ready avionics hardware is built as the company scales into a brand-new facility within the next 6–9 months.

Qualifications and responsibilities for this Lead Avionics Manufacturing Engineer position include: 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, production, or development of high-reliability electrical or electromechanical hardware Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field Experience leading engineers and developing manufacturing processes for high-reliability electronics, including process qualification, tooling, and production documentation Hands-on experience with flight hardware for a flight program, with deep expertise in at least one of wire harnessing, PCBA, or electromechanical integration Own the full lifecycle of avionics manufacturing: process development, qualification, new product introduction, production ramp, and sustainment Partner with Responsible Engineers to drive DFM/DFX feedback, participate in design reviews, and shape designs for rate production Set standards for manufacturing process development, validation, work instructions, and documentation aligned with quality processes and IPC workmanship standards Root cause production failures and non-conformances, drive corrective actions to closure through MRB, and support vehicle-level failure investigations as needed Salary: $160,000 - $240,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
