Job Description

Position: Analytics Developer (MicroStrategy)

Location: Altanta, GA (Hybrid)

Type of Employment: Full-Time

Purpose of the Position: 
MicroStrategy Lead Developer will be responsible for driving the migration of legacy reporting solutions to the target data warehouse platform by translating existing SQL-based reports into MicroStrategy. The role requires a blend of hands-on development, solution design, SQL analysis, report modernization, and stakeholder collaboration while working closely with onsite business and technical teams.


Key Result Areas and Activities: 

  1. MicroStrategy Solution Design & Development - Design and develop MicroStrategy reports, dashboards, documents, and metadata objects while adhering to reporting standards and best practices.
  2. Reporting Migration & SQL Translation - Analyse legacy reports and SQL logic and recreate reporting solutions in MicroStrategy while ensuring functional and data accuracy.
  3. SQL Analysis & Data Validation - Perform complex SQL analysis, troubleshooting, root cause investigation, and data reconciliation to support report development and validation.
  4. Performance Optimization & Reporting Governance - Implement report optimization, metadata best practices, and security standards to improve performance and maintainability.
  5. Stakeholder Collaboration & Technical Leadership - Partner with business users, data teams, and project stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and support successful project delivery.

 

Essential Skills: 

  • Expert MicroStrategy development, solution design, and enterprise reporting.
  • Strong expertise in MicroStrategy architecture, metadata management, schema design, reports, dashboards, and documents.
  • Hands-on experience creating attributes, facts, metrics, filters, prompts, hierarchies, transformations, and report objects.
  • Strong SQL skills with experience in query analysis, optimization, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience translating and modernizing legacy SQL-based reporting solutions into MicroStrategy.
  • Solid understanding of data warehouse concepts, dimensional modelling, and reporting frameworks.
  • Experience with testing, validation, reconciliation, deployment, and production support activities.
  • Ability to lead technical discussions while remaining a hands-on contributor.

 

Desirable Skills: 

  • Experience with Snowflake and cloud-based data warehouse platforms.
  • Exposure to reporting migration and modernization projects.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other BI tools.
  • Knowledge of MicroStrategy performance tuning and security frameworks.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments

 

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in MicroStrategy architecture, development, enterprise reporting, and analytics solution delivery.
  • Strong experience working with data warehouse, BI, and reporting ecosystems.
  • MicroStrategy certifications and cloud platform certifications will be an added advantage.
