Position Title: Genomics Technician
Location: Chicago, IL 60613 (Onsite)
Duration: 6 Months

Job Summary
Genomics Technician responsible for NGS sample QC, processing, sequencing, laboratory operations, research support, and client/project coordination within a Genomics Facility.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform NGS sample intake, QC, processing, and sequencing.
  • Operate Fragment Analyzer, Bioanalyzer, Qubit, qPCR, Illumina NovaSeq, and Element AVITI.
  • Manage samples, specimens, and genomic data.
  • Support experiments, research projects, literature reviews, reports, and manuscripts.
  • Handle project administration and client communication.
  • Collaborate with researchers, students, and laboratory staff.
Required Skills
  • Degree in biology, biotechnology, genomics, molecular biology, or related field.
  • Up to 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced laboratory.
Preferred Skills
  • 3–6 months of genomics research lab experience.
  • Hands-on NGS and sample QC experience.
  • Experience with Qubit, qPCR, Bioanalyzer, Fragment Analyzer.
  • Familiarity with Illumina NovaSeq and Element AVITI.
  • Knowledge of single-cell genomics, Sanger sequencing, and microarrays.
  • Experience with genomic data and research documentation.
