Senior Backend API Developer

Job Description

Senior Backend API Developer with strong experience building production-grade enterprise software using Java or Python, with working knowledge of Golang. The role requires hands-on experience developing cloud-native microservices, REST APIs, enterprise integrations, and scalable backend systems. Strong engineering fundamentals, modern software development practices, containerized deployments, CI/CD automation, software quality, performance optimization, and troubleshooting experience are required. Telecommunications domain experience and familiarity with TM Forum Open APIs are highly desirable.

Key Skills

• Java with Spring Boot or Python with FastAPI, Flask, Django, RESTful API development, API Gateway patterns, OpenAPI/Swagger, microservices architecture, and enterprise system integrations.
• Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform, CI/CD pipelines, Git/GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket, Linux/Unix administration, and Shell/Bash scripting.
• Event-driven architectures and message brokers such as Kafka or RabbitMQ, relational and NoSQL databases, API testing with Postman, unit testing and test automation using JUnit, PyTest, Mockito, or equivalent.
• Monitoring and observability using Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, log analysis, SonarQube, static code analysis, code coverage, performance tuning, high availability, scalability, Design Patterns, and SOLID Principles.

Required Qualifications

• Strong professional experience developing production-grade enterprise backend applications using Java or Python, with working knowledge of Golang.
• Hands-on experience designing and developing scalable cloud-native microservices, secure REST APIs, integration layers, and enterprise system integrations.
• Strong experience with containerized deployments, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, CI/CD automation, automated testing, API validation, and cloud technologies.
• Strong Linux/Unix troubleshooting, debugging, performance optimization, root-cause analysis, and production support experience.
• Experience participating in architecture discussions, technical design decisions, code reviews, coding standards, and mentoring junior developers.
• Experience collaborating with Product Owners, Architects, DevOps, QA, business stakeholders, and geographically distributed teams.
• Experience in Telecommunications is highly desirable, with familiarity with Telecom OSS/BSS integrations and TM Forum Open APIs.

Additional Skills

• Knowledge of TM Forum Open APIs including TMF620, TMF641, TMF622, TMF633, TMF638, TMF640, and related APIs.
• Experience with Kubernetes-based production deployments and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native architecture patterns.
• Strong ownership and accountability, ability to work independently with minimal supervision, strong communication and stakeholder management skills, and a passion for engineering excellence and continuous improvement.
